Richard Weiss is a Partner at KSDT and leads the firm’s Corporate Finance advisory practice. He has more than 25 years of financial services experience providing valuation and litigation advisory, transaction advisory and transfer pricing services to a wide range of organizations and industries.
Richard has developed complex financial models, evaluated industry structures, analyzed the impact of economic factors on businesses and provided M&A, valuation and litigation advisory opinions to assist the senior management of companies. Richard is also experienced in valuing complex financial instruments, including Stock Appreciation Rights (SARS), contingent consideration, options and warrants for private equity and hedge fund portfolios.
Richard has been providing valuations of equity and debt instruments in connection with corporate mergers and acquisitions, tax restructuring, buy-sell agreements, estate and gift tax compliance, S-Corporation election, fairness opinions, shareholder buyouts, martial dissolutions, physician compensation analysis and financial reporting under ASC 820, 350 and 718 (intangible asset valuation, goodwill impairment and stock compensation-options, preferred stocks, restricted stocks).
Richard has been involved in the litigation support projects in connection with breach of contract, business interruption, economic damages, shareholder disputes and marital dissolutions.
Richard served as a financial markets development consultant under an international project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), traveled to the Middle East, and involved in the establishment of an investment unit and investment policy for a US ally country.
Prior to joining KSDT, he held leadership roles with a large regional accounting firm, providing valuations for tax and financial reporting and with a Big Four accounting firm in its financial advisory services practice. Richard began his career in corporate finance with an investment advisory firm.
